It seems the American political scene got completely out of hand, and the government under Bush leaves a whole lot to be explained. My God! $700 Billion to Wall Street? Plus hundreds of billions more to take over the banks?

This sure wasn't what the Republican platform called for. The Democrats and the Republicans have gone completely mad!

Only one thing: After the liberals finish ruining the American principles of free enterprise and minimal government, the people will be clamoring for a Libertarian government. After they've all gone on their drunken binge, they will be ready for some mature, responsible sobriety.

Well, not to make you feel threatened, but you're plenty good looking to model. Your man is lucky. Be sure he realizes that!

I have often wondered if the average person could actually get naked and pose for strangers, to do nude modeling. My guess is, yes, if they felt comfortable and like the artist or photographer wouldn't take advantage of them.

I've done lots of modeling in my life. Much of it nude. Even in front of large groups of art students in big classrooms.

How about you? Could you expose your entire mortal self to strangers for several hours at a time?

I'm looking at moving to a lake deep in the hills of West Virginia, to live and work. But it could get awfully lonely, without someone to keep me company.

On the other hand, I'm considering a job in San Diego, right at the base of the downtown city skyscrapers. Plenty going on there. Plenty of noise, too. And a shortage of privacy.

Senate panel approves RIAA-backed copyright bill

WASHINGTON--A U.S. Senate panel on Thursday overwhelmingly approved a bill backed by the recording industry that would give federal prosecutors the power to file civil lawsuits against peer-to-peer users who violate copyright laws.

Groups such as the American Library Association and the Electronic Frontier Foundation are opposed to portions, including the Justice Department pursuing taxpayer-funded lawsuits on behalf of private parties.

5-month-old baby killed in clothes dryer in Harvey

A 5-month-old boy was killed in Harvey Thursday when his baby sitter allegedly put him in her clothes dryer because she had become frustrated with him, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said.

The baby sitter, Ariel Smith, 19, was booked with first-degree murder.

Saudi cleric tones down death ruling for 'depraved' TV bosses

RIYADH (AFP) — Saudi Arabia's top judge sought on Sunday to tone down a controversial religious edict sanctioning the killing of owners of television stations that air "debauchery."
Sheikh Saleh al-Luhaidan said on state television that "depraved" television owners could only be put to death after a judicial process, reflecting the anger of many clerics at programmes perceived as un-Islamic.
If the owners of television networks who air "depravation and debauchery" are not deterred by lesser punishments, they would be referred to justice which issues its rulings in keeping with the laws in force in the kingdom, he said.
"They may be killed through a judicial (ruling)," Luhaidan added.
Luhaidan, who heads the Supreme Judicial Council, the highest judicial body in Saudi Arabia, sparked controversy by saying on radio that the owners of satellite networks broadcasting "immoral" programmes may be killed.
"It is lawful to kill... the apostles of depravation... if their evil cannot be easily removed through simple sanctions," he said, according to excerpts of the remarks broadcast on Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya television on Friday.

Italian model plans to sell virginity for 1m euros
An Italian model who swears she has never had sex plans to sell her virginity for one million euros, or £792,000.

Showgirl and men's magazine model Raffella Fico, 20, told an Italian magazine: "I can't wait to see who's going to pull out the money to have me."
Miss Fico, who appeared in the Italian version of Big Brother earlier this year, said she would use the cash to buy a house in Rome and pay for acting classes.
"I don't know what it's like to have sex," she told the magazine, Chi, adding that if the man who bought her virginity was ugly then she would quickly get over it.
"If I don't like him I'll just have a glass of wine and forget about it," said the aspiring actress from Naples - hometown of screen siren Sophia Loren.
Her family insisted that despite her good looks and sexy image, she remained a virgin.
"She's never had a boyfriend. I swear on my mother's grave. She's a devout Catholic and prays to Padre Pio every night," her brother told the magazine.
She is the not the first woman to auction her virginity for a large sum. An 18-year-old US student in San Diego, Natalie Dylan, recently told the Howard Stern show she would have sex for the first time for $1 million to pay her college fees.
In 2005 a Peruvian model, also 18, put herself up for sale to help pay her family's medical bills but ended up having second thoughts and turning down $1.5 million.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The capture of two cocaine-laden semi-submarines in the past week has highlighted the increasing use of the vessels, which now transport one-third of illicit drugs in the eastern Pacific, a major route between Colombia and the United States, U.S. authorities said Friday.

This 60-foot semi-submersible vessel sank after U.S. authorities boarded it September 17.

The first seizure occurred September 12, when a Coast Guard team, under cover of darkness, boarded a 59-foot semi-submersible 370 nautical miles southwest of Guatemala.

The startled Colombian smugglers reversed the vessel in an effort to throw the boarding party overboard, but the Coast Guard was able to seize the craft, its four-person crew and its 237 bales of cocaine.

Just five days later, on Wednesday morning, a 60-foot semi-submersible was seized about 200 nautical miles south of Guatemala. As the boarding team unloaded the last few bales, the Coast Guard said, the unstable vessel began to take on water through its exhaust vents and sank.

Palin E-Mail Hacker Says It Was Easy

A person claiming to be the hacker who obtained access to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's private Yahoo e-mail on Tuesday has posted a supposed first-person account of the hack, revealing the relatively simple steps he says he took to crack the private e-mail of the Republican vice-presidential candidate.
The story was briefly posted Wednesday to the 4chan forum where the hack first surfaced. Bloggers have connected the handle of the poster, "Rubico," to an e-mail address, and tentatively identified the owner as a college student in Tennessee.
Threat Level was unable to reach the student by phone because his number is unlisted. A person who identified himself as the student's father, when reached at home, said he could not talk about the matter and would have no comment. The father is a Democratic state representative in Tennessee. Threat Level is not identifying them by name because authorities have not identified any suspects in the case, and the link to the student so far is tenuous. The father, in a second call with Threat Level late Thursday afternoon, said that neither he nor his son has been contacted by any law enforcement authorities. A local Tennessee paper had erroneously reported that his son had been contacted by authorities, he told Threat Level.
As detailed in the postings, the Palin hack didn't require any real skill. Instead, the hacker simply reset Palin's password using her birthdate, ZIP code and information about where she met her spouse -- the security question on her Yahoo account, which was answered (Wasilla High) by a simple Google search.
The simplicity of the attack, of course, makes it no less illegal.
The hacker said that he read all of the e-mails in the Palin account and found "nothing incriminating, nothing that would derail her campaign as I had hoped. All I saw was personal stuff, some clerical stuff from when she was governor…. And pictures of her family."
Once the hacker had read the e-mails in Palin's account, he said he suddenly realized what he'd done and how vulnerable he was to being caught, since he'd used only a single proxy service to hide his IP address.

Court Finds Army Commander Was Denied Job For Revealing He Would Start Work as A Woman

WASHINGTON — A former Army Special Forces commander passed over for a job as a terrorism analyst at the Library of Congress because he was in the process of becoming a she won a discrimination lawsuit on Friday.

U.S. District Judge James Robinson ruled that the Library of Congress discriminated against Diane Schroer of Alexandria, Va., by not giving her the job after the former David Schroer disclosed he would start becoming Diane before beginning the new job.

"The evidence establishes that the Library was enthusiastic about hiring David Schroer -- until she disclosed her transsexuality," Robinson wrote in his decision. "The Library revoked the offer when it learned that a man named David intended to become, legally, culturally, and physically, a woman named Diane. This was discrimination 'because of . . . sex."'

Advocates called the ruling groundbreaking because a federal judge has now ruled that discriminating against someone for changing genders is sex discrimination under federal law.

"The court got it exactly right, sending a loud and clear message to employers everywhere: if you fire or refused to hire someone for transitioning, you are guilty of sex discrimination and may well find yourself liable," said Sharon McGowan, a lawyer with the American Civil Liberties Union who helped with the case.

The Justice Department is reviewing the judge's ruling, spokesman Charles Miller said.

Schroer sued in 2005 alleging sex discrimination under the Civil Rights Act.

"It is especially gratifying that the court has ruled that discriminating against someone for transitioning is illegal," Schroer said after hearing about the decision.

The Library of Congress and the Justice Department argued that discrimination because of transsexuality was not illegal sex discrimination under the Civil Rights Act.

But Robinson disagreed. "The Library's refusal to hire Schroer after being advised that she planned to change her anatomical sex by undergoing sex reassignment surgery was literally discrimination 'because of . . . sex,"' the judge wrote.

Schroer said in the Army she was director of the classified group that tracked and targeted terrorists, and she briefed high-level officials such as Vice President Dick Cheney. After retiring from the military, David Schroer interviewed for the Congressional Research Service job at the Library of Congress and got an offer in December 2004.

Schroer said during a lunch with Charlotte Preece, a Library of Congress official, he explained the upcoming medical transition to become a woman. Schroer testified Preece called the next day and said the position would not be a "good fit".

The judge will decide on the penalties in the case later.

California Man Allegedly Vandalizes Preschool With Hate Graffiti

VENTURA, Calif. —

Authorities say they've arrested a Camarillo man on suspicion of spray-painting swastikas and other hate-crime graffiti at a Jewish preschool and other sites.
The Sheriff's Department says on Friday they arrested Jonathan Samuel Latino on suspicion of felony vandalism and a hate crime. Latino is being held in Ventura County Jail.

Several homes, businesses, vehicles and other properties in Camarillo, including the Gan Camarillo Preschool were vandalized last month. Authorities say the graffiti included swastikas and derogatory racial comments.

A surveillance camera from one business captured video of a suspect, leading investigators to Latino.
